Company 3 was dispatched to a residential structure fire in the 6600 block of Hidden Woods Drive on Sunday afternoon. Callers advised heavy smoke and flames were coming from the two-story home. Our dedicated volunteers responded in force with Wagon-3, Ladder-3 and Engine-3 fully staffed and ready to go to work. Upon arrival heavy flames were consuming the Bravo and Charlie corner of the cedar shake roof. Crews initiated an interior attack but were forced out by rapidly deteriorating conditions and the risk of roof collapse. Fire conditions destroyed the roof structure with heavy water damage being sustained in much of the house. Fort Lewis Company 9 and Clearbrook Company 7 also responded along with Battalion 1 and EMS 2. No one was home at the time of the incident and no injuries were sustained. Special thanks to Rescue 3 for their outstanding size-up and hydrant location as well as Mark from the Elliston Volunteer Fire Department for all of your help.
