CSVFD Annual Fire Banquet

Tuesday, January 24, 2012 Cave Spring Volunteer Fire Department held its annual fire banquet Saturday, January 21st at the Holiday Inn Tanglewood.  Approximately 120 department members and guests attended. The banquet consisted of a social hour, dinner, slide show of the year’s events, door prizes and awards. This year’s awards went to, Aaron Hall receiving “Firefighter of the Year” and Timothy Dobson receiving “Officer of the Year”. These awards are given annually to members who have gone above and beyond the scope of their normal fire department duties in the past year. Ray Potvin received the “Top Responder” award with 448 calls for the year.  Annual years of service awards were given to members as they reach their 5-year anniversaries. The following members were recognized; Robert Perdue - 25yrs, Brian Garber - 10yrs, Jacob Quesinberry - 5yrs, Danny Marshal - 5yrs, Shawn Sloane- 5yrs and Will Klick- 5yrs . Each member was recognized with a certificate and service pin.  Additionally members with over 100 calls for the year were award with the century club t-shirt.  This year’s banquet not only recognizes the members of the fire department but the families, friends, and relatives who make it possible for the department members to do what they do. A special thanks to Craig Sellers for putting together our banquet each year and Ray Potvin for our annual slide show.
