Brush Fire Response
At approximately 11:50 pm last night, crews from Station 3 responded to reports of a residential structure fire. Upon arrival, units located a brush fire on the rear of a residence that had gotten out of control with flames that were at one point 10-15 ft high.
With the fire controlled soon after arrival, crews used water and brush rakes to make sure the fire was completely extinguished.
Luckily the fire never got into the house or close-by exposures. We’d like to remind all residents that in Roanoke County any fire that is not a 3×3 covered cooking/recreational firepit requires a burn permit from the Fire Marshal’s Office.
